After the stupendous success of the maiden edition of SABERA held on December 6th at the Nehru Memorial Library & Museum Auditorium, Teen Murti Bhavan, we are back with the second edition. This December we acknowledge and recognize Business & Social Enterprises along with individuals working responsibly. These may include Individuals or enterprises. Public sector, Private sector, NGO’s, social enterprises and social causes.
Our humble beginnings acknowledged many an inspiring story. Including that of DCP Chhaya Sharma who was recognized as a change maker. She is now the inspiration behind the latest Netflix series Delhi Crime. Do Check the interview #LikeaBoss with Simply Suparnaa that’s gone viral. Sumit Jain, went on to conduct the world cricket championship for deaf & mute with Star sports as a sponsor. Dev Pratap & Chandini were Ragpickers who founded the Voice of Slum, SABERA helped them to be mentored by the CSR lead of Infoedge, they were also profiled on Radio Mirchi.
The maiden edition in 2018 also attracted partners such as MSCI as ESG Data providers and UN Global Compact network as the SDG partners. Ensuring quality participation from both the not for profit as well as the Corporate sector.
The awards are a 2 tier robust process inviting entries from the cross section on the basis of predefined categories. The same will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of jury who will first judge individually, then through a physical jury meet. Each entry will be evaluated by at least 3 jury members on the preset criteria.
An entry fee is applicable. For enterprises/individuals having top-line revenue below 5 crores, the entry fee is heavily subsidized. To register, please click here

सबेरा Awards will recognise socially responsible work in public sector, private sector, NGO’s, academics, social cause initiatives and enterprises. These can be CSR , non governmental , for profit initiatives or individual initiatives that make India a responsible nation.The work being evaluated must be executed between the time period of 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2019. It may be an ongoing project but evaluation will be on the basis of the results in the said period.
Recognizing the work done wrt the criteria allocated. These can include CSR initiatives, Non governmental initiatives or for profit enterprise initiatives.
Recognizing enterprises doing exceptional work in the development sector. Jury is free to nominate names for the entire jury board to consider.
Recognizing individual trail blazers in Corporate, NGO, Social causes, entrepreneurial sectors and Government offices. Jury is free to nominate names for the entire jury board to consider.
A1: Paryavaran (Environment) – These may include but are not limited to waste management, recycling, water conservation, restoring water & ecosystems, mitigating impact of climate change, renewable energy, affordable, reliable, sustainable & modern energy, sustainability, promoting sustainable industries, research & innovation for sustainability etc.
A2: Shiksha (Education) – These can include but not limited to affordable primary & secondary education, skill development, inclusive education, technology in CSR road safety etc.
A3: Sashktikaran (Enablement) – These can include but not limited to human rights, livelihood, inclusive world, community development, disaster relief, employment creation, entrepreneurship development, job creation, heritage conservation, women empowerment, rehabilitation, upgrading slum settlements & infrastructure, supporting communities affected by conflict or climate related disasters etc.
A4: Swasthya & Kalyan (Health & Well being) – These can include but not limited to immunization drives, providing affordable medicines, prevention, treatment & education of diseases like AIDS, TB, Malaria etc., sexual and reproductive healthcare, nutrition programs, supporting R&D for vaccines, safe drinking water, sanitation, hygiene etc.
A5: Krishi & Gramin Vikas (Agriculture & Rural development)– These can include but not limited to promoting sustainable agriculture, improving capacities of small scale farmers, investment in infrastructure & technology to improve agricultural productivity, improving livelihood for farmers.
A6: Khel (Sports) – These can include but not limited to sports promotion, creating facilities etc.
B1: Social Enterprise of the year
B2: Not for profit of the year
B3: Responsible Business of the year
C1: Promising Social Leader (Under 30 certificate to be submitted)
C2: CSR leader of the year (Include Certicate of recommendation from Reporting boss)

Sustainability of outcome after completion, exit strategy if any, future plan or possibility to scale.

Entries are invited on a pre determined format of criteria online. You will first need to register here (There is no registration fees) The formatted entry form can be downloaded if required and then filled and shared online. Each form should be filled, delineating individual criteria and why the jury should consider the entry. Accompanied with supporting documents and creative urls. The NGO’s should have a consent form from the corporate wherever they are the executing partner.
Promising Leader should have an authorization letter from the CEO/head of the organization represented along with an age proof of under 30 years.
The collated entries may be screened by the jury to create a shortlist.
Shortlist of top 5 scorers in Category A may be invited to present to the physical jury, in such a case they will be duly informed.
