Delna Avari, x TATA MOTORS
Simply Suparnaa 1Interview
This was amongst the very first few interviews (second to be precise) in the short trip to Mumbai, when I decided to take the plunge and record some interactions for the Simply Suparnaa series. Through the extended weekend in Mumbai, I was staying with a friend in Khar West. Her pad became our studio, and the couch with the lamp in the background, our set. My dear friend Bhavna, who was also in Mumbai at the time, helped execute these first few interactions, as recorded on our smartphones. We made the very first investment in equipment for the series, buying a selfie stick, tripod and hard drive. The video was shot on my iphone 6s and the audio on Bhavna’s iphone 5s. Testing waters and keeping production costs as frugal as possible. The latter remains our mantra till date.
Coming from a conventionally male dominated space, including marketing trucks amidst her other roles with TATA MOTORS, Delna Avari shared a great perspective on women and entrepreneurship. She feels strongly for a gender equitable society and resonates a lot of my own beliefs.
Delna, has unofficially taken me under her wing and makes it a point to send links to podcasts & sites, helping me stay abreast with what’s happening in the world of entrepreneurship and the medium of web from across the world.
Its an outrageous idea to take on the big, wide and deep pocketed world of media all alone but I get by with a little help of my friends. If you like what you see, share it further with a dreamer, be the wind beneath their wings and let them learn to fly #LikeaBoss
