Simply Suparnaa

Founder Simply Suparnaa  © Media network,

A UN Women Awardee.

My keen spiritual bent drew me towards learning Shaktism from my Guru, Shree Umeshwar Shrivastav. ‘Shakti’ (literally means energy in Hindi), is the medium to experience all that we do. And since energy creates, Shaktism believes in feminine divine energy that pervades all as we know and beyond.

I have also formally studied one of the oldest treatise from the 6 main philosophies that form the ancient wisdom of our land, the Sankhya Shastra, as formulated by the sage Kapila Muni, also under my Guru’s tutelage. This has helped me get a deeper insight into my day to day experiences to understand the ‘cause’ behind the ‘effect’.

And all that I do today is guided by the path as shown by HER.

After spending 2 decades in the media and marketing fraternity in various capacities – I realized how GOOD content of gender-sensitive campaigns and sustainable initiatives need to be showcased to a larger audience to inspire the community. This formed the ethos of the Simply Suparnaa  © Media network. With Gender sensitivity & sustainability at the core, effecting a behavioural change in mindsets have become our vision and mission. As of now, we have 2 main ventures under the network. The first is SABERA (sabera.co), which acknowledges and amplifies GOOD in alignment with SDG and ESG best practices, through an annual award & summit, as well as blogs and social content.  The other is Woman Endangered (womanendangered.org), a Nonprofit trust that regularly conducts menstrual hygiene sessions, talking about Periods, sharing fact-based information and introducing sustainable feminine hygiene solutions both in marginalized sections as well as urban institutions. Besides this, the trust amplifies gender diversity and inclusion through social content & blogs.

The Simply Suparnaa  © Media network is a UN Women WEP Awardee.

Aside from the activities of the network I also volunteer with  Shree Shakti Consciousness Foundation (sscf.in) working with marginalized communities adopted by the foundation.

I have had the opportunity to publish an anthology of stories from my ancestral journal Biswin Sadi (the 20th century in Urdu) and Nayi Sadi (New Century in Hindi), documenting stories of the traumatic pre and post-partition era of the Indian sub-continent, with Harper Collins. It is called Nayi Sadi ki Kahaniyan (stories from the new century).

I believe that when we focus on the positive around us and reward those who are doing good, we end up enhancing it and encouraging more of it into existence thereby making our own journey pleasant!
