What is the comic scene in India?  ‘We are the largest democracy as well as the largest Hypocrisy. Politicians have a sense of humor Politics does not’ PAPA CJ , Asia’s best standup comedian on the comic scene in India.

I met with PAPA CJ for the first time through one

of the shows I was curating/Hosting and he performing. He had the audience in splits, but as most comedians, meandered towards sexual innuendos. And then I saw him perform again through his show ‘NAKED’ – which you must watch , in case you haven’t. I was very pleasantly surprised how he used the platform of comedy to connect with his audience at a deeply emotional level. As the name suggest, he quite literally

stripped bare his clothes as he allowed the audience to peel his emotions one by one. Some say its a very brave thing to expose your true self on a public platform where most want to wear a mask to look good. Well, if that is true then PAPA CJ is a brave man.

We recorded this interview in his house in Vasant Vihar, and a mighty palatial house at that, I might add. I cannot hide my awe for him to use his talent to bring about a happy change in the lives of those who are physically suffering. The ‘Happiness project’ is exactly what each one of us should be doing, using our core talent to bring about a change without the incentive of a profit. And if you ask me, this is the secret to success. The universe provides for and abundantly at that for those who provide for others, in whatever their means are.
